Traffic Detoured Due to Gas Line Break

UPDATE ON GAS LEAK:  Workers for Atlanta Gas Light Company arrived on scene at approximately 3:30 and indicated it would take 2 hours to make the repairs to the gas line.

Cherokee County Fire & Emergencies Services responded to a gas leak call this afternoon at Holly Springs Parkway at Mountain Brook Drive at approximately 1 o’clock. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the break in a 1 inch gas line.

Both lanes of traffic are being detoured at this time until the break is repaired. The Atlanta Gas Light Company is enroute, but it is unknown at this time as to when the roadway will be opened for traffic. Motorists are advised to stay away from this area at this time until the necessary repairs are made.
