Fire Damages Home on Farmington Drive

June 18, 2018

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire call this morning, shortly after 9:30, at 153 Farmington Drive just off Arnold Mill Road.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the two story wooden structure. According to firefighters on scene, the fire appeared to be coming from the garage area underneath the home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before any major damage could occur. Most of the damage fire, smoke and water damage was confined to the basement/garage area of the structure. The fire was brought under control about 45 minutes after the call was dispatched.

Portions of Farmington Drive were closed during the operation and no injuries were reported. No one was living in the home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
