SUV Flips Several Times, Driver Injured

February 2, 2018

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services and Woodstock Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle accident with a possible entrapment at approximately 5:30 yesterday afternoon on the northbound ramp of Sixes Road at I-575.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a Honda SUV that had flipped several times and landed on its side.   Firefighters stabilized the vehicle so they could use the “jaws of life” to remove the roof of the SUV in order to reach the female driver of the car. Paramedics on the scene reported that the driver had altered states of consciousness. Once the driver was removed, she was placed in an ambulance with cuts and bruises on her head. She was conscious and alert as she was taken to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

One other vehicle that was involved in the accident, a Toyota Highlander, received considerable damage to the driver’s side of the car.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the accident is being investigated by the Holly Springs Police Department.
