Multi-Vehicle Wreck Results in Injuries

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a multi-vehicle wreck that occurred shortly after 11:15 this morning on Interstate 575 northbound, near Exit 16, in Canton. 

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find several vehicles involved in the wreck including an SUV that was hauling a boat and left the roadway and ended up in some trees. A female passenger in the SUV, who appeared to be in her late 60s, was complaining on lower back pain. She was transported to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. The female driver of a black Sentra was complaining of neck pain and was taken to Northside Cherokee Hospital. Three other vehicles were also involved in the wreck but no injuries were reported. 

One lane of Interstate 575 northbound was blocked until the wreckage was cleared. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.
