Fire Destroys Home on Tripp Road

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire this morning just shortly before 3 o’clock at 1975 Tripp Road, off East Cherokee Drive.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the one story house on a basement. The first units on scene stated that the house was approximately 75% involved. The occupants of the home, a mother and her daughter, and her daughter’s two children, were able to escape without injury. Cherokee County firefighters were able to get the fire under control, however, the house received significant fire, smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family. No other injuries have been reported. Both lanes of Tripp Road were blocked until the fire operation was complete. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by a Cherokee County Fire Investigator.
