Fire Damages Home Near Cherokee-Forsyth County Line.

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire this morning at 10 o’clock at 14541 Cumming Highway near the Cherokee and Forsyth County line.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the one-story structure. Moments later fire broke through the roof of the house. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire; however, the home still received fire smoke and water damage. Firefighters did a primary search to be sure no one was inside the house when the fire occurred. The 27 year old renter, Shae Senner, was not home at the time. 

No injuries were reported and one lane of Highway 20 was blocked until the operation was complete. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Cherokee County Fire investigators.
