Cherokee County Firefighters Respond to Structure Fire on Little Refuge Road

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire last night just shortly after 6PM at 5179 Little Refuge Road in Waleska, Georgia.

Firefighters quickly responded to the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the one story wooden structure. The residents of the home, a lady in her fifties and her twenty-nine year old daughter, were not home when the fire occurred. Neighbors saw the fire and called 911. Firefighters were able to get a good knock-down on the fire in about 15 minutes after they arrived. The house had severe fire, smoke and water damage to the inside and outside.

One lane of Little Refuge Road was blocked until the operation was complete.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
