Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services presented a check in the amount of $960 to the Kaleidoscope House located in Canton, Georgia. The Kaleidoscope House is an Applied Behavioral Analysis School which specializes in children with autism.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office solicited registrations from runners who participated in the Guns and Hoses Run on February 23rd of this year to raise money for two charity causes. The event was open to the public and runners were asked to pick the team they wanted to run for, Guns or Hoses, and $5.00 of their registration fee was donated to their respective organization. The Kaleidoscope House was selected as the charity for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
According to Kim Watts, with the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation Agency, 192 runners signed up for the fire department, while 88 signed up with the sheriff’s office.
This was the second year in a row Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services won the event with the most registrations.
