Three Vehicle Accident on Highway 140 Shuts Down Traffic

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a three vehicle accident on Highway 140, near the entrance to Laurel Canyon, at 4:30 on Friday afternoon.

Emergency service personnel arrived on the scene to find a GMC Sierra truck that was hauling ladders on a trailer, a Ford pickup truck and a white Toyota Scion.  The driver of the GMC truck, a 43 year old male, was transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital complaining of neck and back pain.  Two female passengers in the Ford pickup, ages 52 and 13, were also transported to Northside Cherokee with non life threatening injuries.  The driver of the Ford pickup and the Toyota Scion refused transport to the hospital.

Both lanes of Highway 140 were blocked for about an hour and then one lane was open for traffic.  No other injuries were reported and the accident is being investigated by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
