Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the City of Canton Fire Department responded to a structure fire yesterday evening, shortly after 7pm, at 341 Canton Street located off Highway 140, in North Canton.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find flames and heavy black smoke coming from a single-wide trailer.  The fire was quickly extinguished, however, the trailer received extreme damage and was gutted by the fire.  There were no occupants inside the home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Portions of Canton Street were blocked until the operation was complete.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
