Driver in Critical Condition After Wreck on Highway 92

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and Woodstock Fire and Rescue responded to an accident yesterday afternoon on Highway 92, near the intersection of Colony Center Drive, just east of Woodstock.

The accident, which occurred shortly after 4pm, involved two vehicles, a Toyota Camry and a Ford Escapade. The driver of the Ford Escapade, a male who appeared to be in his twenties, was in stable condition and taken to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. The 48 year old female driver of the Toyota Camry was entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated from her car. She had fractures to both arms and lacerations to her face and was transported to North Fulton Hospital in critical condition.

The westbound lane of Highway 92 was blocked until the clean-up operation was complete. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office.
